The PSR is a parish-administered course of religious education for children in Grades 1 through 8 who attend public schools, non-Catholic private schools, or home schools. It provides an hour of classroom instruction in the Catholic Faith built on the foundation of the family's regular and active practice of the Faith.
Welcome to the Parish School of Religion program in the Avon Catholic Community serving the parish communities of Holy Trinity and St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Currently, we serve grades 1-8 in our PSR program. Our goal as a faith formation community is to foster an environment for our students that teaches them not just facts, but the important story of Christ and how he impacts our everyday lives. Our devoted volunteers have given their time to help our students learn to know, love and serve God. My goal as the Parish Catechetical Leader (PCL/DRE) is to create a safe, happy, healthy and holy environment for all of our students.
Please remember that faith formation begins in the home. The PSR program in the Avon Catholic Community is secondary to the primary faith formation in the household. It is important to set a positive example to our future leaders by exposing them to the glory and power of God through prayer, action and attending weekly Mass.
Throughout the academic year, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you, and I ask that you continue to pray for the success of our PSR program this year. God Bless!
Ms. Anna Shaw
Parish Catechetical Leader (PCL)
